Vadodara – Anklav – Vasad Circuit
Yog Niketan, Vadodara → Anklav & Vasad → Yog Niketan, Vadodara
The Vadodara–Anklav–Vasad Cycling Circuit is a 61.8 km loop starting and finishing at Yog Niketan, Vadodara. The route takes riders through Anklav and towards Vasad before returning to the city, combining quieter roads, open countryside and a fast-flowing highway section that gives the ride its most exciting moment. The highlight comes after Anklav, when the route enters the Tarapur–Vasad highway. With a road built for speed and a long, open stretch ahead, this is where riders can settle into a strong pace — and, when conditions are safe, let the bike run. At around 62 km, this Vadodara cycling route sits comfortably in the moderate-distance category: long enough for a proper endurance ride, but without demanding climbs dominating the experience. It is a route about rhythm, open roads and enjoying the ride.

Elevation Profile
19–53 m over 61.78 kmThe Ride
Starting from Yog Niketan, the Vadodara–Anklav–Vasad Circuit gradually moves away from the city and into the more open roads beyond Vadodara.
The early kilometres are about finding your rhythm rather than chasing speed. There is a good distance ahead, so keeping the effort controlled early makes the later sections much more enjoyable.
As the route moves towards Anklav, the surroundings begin to open up and the character of the ride changes. This is where the circuit starts to feel less like a city ride and more like a proper road adventure.
Through Anklav
Anklav is an important point in the circuit, but it is not the final destination.
From here, the route turns towards the Tarapur–Vasad highway, setting up what is arguably the most enjoyable section of the ride for riders who like to pick up the pace.
The transition is noticeable. The roads become more open, the route straightens out and there is a greater sense of space ahead.
The Tarapur–Vasad Highway
This is where the ride gets fast.
Entering the Tarapur–Vasad highway from the Anklav side brings you onto a road built to carry speed. The long, open stretch gives riders an opportunity to settle into a higher cruising pace and enjoy the feeling of the bike moving freely beneath them.
For riders who enjoy a sprint, this can be the section to test your legs.
But the road comes first. A sprint should only happen when visibility is clear, traffic conditions are favourable and there is plenty of space around you. This is a public road, not a closed circuit, so speed should never come at the expense of safety.
The reward, when conditions allow, is one of those simple cycling moments that makes a route memorable — an open road, a strong tailwind, a well-settled cadence and the bike just flying.
Finding Your Rhythm
The beauty of this route is the change in pace.
The beginning is about settling in. Anklav marks the transition. The Tarapur–Vasad highway opens the ride up.
Rather than trying to ride every kilometre at the same intensity, use the route to naturally vary your effort. Ride comfortably when the road demands it and take advantage of the faster sections when conditions are right.
That makes the 64.8 km distance feel much more interesting than simply riding 65 kilometres on the same type of road.
The Return Towards Vadodara
After the Tarapur–Vasad section, the circuit eventually turns back towards Vadodara.
By this point, pacing becomes important. The temptation is to spend too much energy on the faster highway section and then discover that the final kilometres are harder than expected.
Keep something in reserve.
A good long ride is not about having one spectacular section and struggling through the rest. It is about finishing the route strongly and arriving back at Yog Niketan with the satisfaction that the entire ride came together.
Who Is This Route For?
This is a good route for riders who are comfortable with rides in the 60–70 km range and want to add some faster road riding to their weekend cycling.
It is also useful for riders building towards longer distances. The route provides enough distance to practise pacing, hydration and nutrition while remaining relatively straightforward from a climbing perspective.
For newer riders, the key is not to chase the faster riders on the highway section. Ride within your ability and treat the open road as an opportunity to enjoy the bike rather than a requirement to hit a particular speed.
Why Ride the Anklav–Vasad Circuit?
There are plenty of cycling routes around Vadodara where the destination is the main attraction.
This one is different.
Here, the ride itself is the attraction.
You leave Vadodara, move through Anklav, transition onto the open Tarapur–Vasad highway, enjoy the faster section when conditions permit, and then complete the loop back to where you started.
It is a route that rewards riders who enjoy the feeling of covering ground.
