Vadodara → Kayavarohan

Dairy Circle, Vadodara → Kayavarohan → Dairy Circle, Vadodara

Vadodara to Kayavarohan is a relaxed 50 km out-and-back ride through quieter roads and green countryside, with Kayavarohan Temple providing a natural destination and turnaround point. Starting early from Vadodara, the route is at its best before the day gets busy and the temperature begins to rise. The real character of the ride comes from what happens at Kayavarohan — a short break near the temple for chai and bhajia, followed by the chance to attend the morning Aarti, turns a straightforward cycling route into something more memorable. With relatively low traffic, manageable terrain and no demanding climbs, this is a route for riders who enjoy the journey as much as the distance.

The Ride

This is a simple out-and-back ride with a clear destination: Kayavarohan Temple.

The early part of the ride takes you away from Vadodara and gradually into a greener, quieter environment. There is nothing particularly technical about the route, which makes it easy to settle into a steady rhythm and enjoy the changing surroundings.

The route works especially well as an early-morning ride. Starting around 4:30–5:30 AM gives you cooler temperatures, quieter roads and enough time to reach Kayavarohan while the morning is still relatively peaceful.

Reaching Kayavarohan

Kayavarohan is more than just a turnaround point.

The temple provides a natural place to stop, take a breather and slow down before beginning the return journey. If your timing works, the morning Aarti is worth experiencing. The atmosphere can be energetic and vibrant, giving the ride a character that you don't get from simply reaching a kilometre marker and turning around.

This is one of those routes where the destination becomes part of the ride rather than just the reason for the ride.

Chai, Bhajia and a Break

Near Kayavarohan Temple, the local shops offer a simple and very Gujarati way to pause — chai and bhajia.

It is not meant to be a long café stop. A short break, something hot to eat and a little time around the temple is enough to make the destination feel like a proper midway point.

For a Sloww Cheetah ride, that is part of the experience: ride, stop, look around, and then continue.

The Return

After the break at Kayavarohan, the route follows the same general path back towards Vadodara.

The return leg is straightforward, but an early start remains important. Once the morning progresses, temperatures rise and the roads gradually become busier. Getting back before the heat builds up is one of the reasons this route works particularly well as an early-morning ride.

What Makes This Ride Worth Doing

At around 50 km, this is long enough to feel like a proper cycling outing without becoming an endurance challenge.

There are no major climbs to dominate the ride and traffic is generally low, particularly in the early morning. The combination of distance, countryside, a meaningful destination and a simple local food stop makes it an enjoyable route for riders looking for something more than a purely fitness-focused ride.

And then there is the Aarti.

If you get the timing right, that short experience at Kayavarohan can become the part of the ride you remember long after the kilometres are forgotten.
