Vadodara → Gallops
Yog Niketan, Vadodara → Gallops (Anand) → Yog Niketan, Vadodara

Elevation Profile
22–54 m over 70.28 km🚴 The Ride
The ride starts from Yog Niketan in the early hours of the morning, when Vadodara is still relatively quiet and the day is just beginning.
From Yog Niketan, the route moves through Shani Gate and towards the GSFC Main Gate. This is where the ride gradually transitions from city roads to the highway.
And this is where the character of the ride changes.
🛣️ Getting Out of Vadodara
Once you reach the highway after GSFC, traffic becomes the biggest challenge.
The stretch through Ranoli and Padamla, and onward towards Vasad, can be busy, so this section requires patience and extra attention. It is not the place to chase speed. Stay alert, maintain your line, keep a safe distance and ride with the traffic conditions.
The early kilometres are therefore less about enjoying the speed and more about getting safely through the busy section.
🌅 The Road Opens Up
The real transformation happens around Vasad.
At this point, the highway traffic spreads towards different destinations — one direction continuing towards Anand, Gallops and Ahmedabad, while another heads towards Tarapur.
Once you take the route towards Gallops, the traffic reduces considerably.
And this is where the ride finally opens up.
The busy highway feeling begins to disappear, the road stretches ahead, and you get that feeling every cyclist looks forward to — space to ride.
💨 Open Roads — The Main Attraction
For this ride, the open road is the destination.
With considerably less traffic, riders can settle into a comfortable cruising rhythm and enjoy the road without the constant stop-and-go feeling of the earlier section.
This is the section where you can truly enjoy your bike — the cadence, the early-morning air, the long stretches of road and the feeling of covering serious distance.
It isn't necessarily about riding fast.
It's about having room to ride.
For riders who enjoy long-distance road cycling, this is what makes the route special.
☕ Gallops
After roughly 50 kilometres, you reach Gallops, making it a natural halfway point for the ride.
Gallops is a popular stop for travellers and a convenient place for cyclists to take a break, grab some refreshments, stretch the legs and spend some time with the group.
After the busy roads of the Vadodara–Vasad section and the open stretches that follow, the stop at Gallops feels well earned.
Take a breath. Refuel. Enjoy the company.
Then it's time to turn the wheels back towards Vadodara.
🔄 The Ride Back
The return journey completes a ride of roughly 100 kilometres, making this a solid long-distance outing from Vadodara.
By now, pacing becomes important.
The temptation is to enjoy the open roads and spend too much energy early, but the real satisfaction comes from managing the entire ride — staying hydrated, eating at the right time and keeping enough energy for the return.
The final kilometres bring you back through the same busy sections towards Vadodara, making it important to remain alert even when fatigue starts setting in.
❤️ Why Ride to Gallops?
This isn't a ride where the destination is the biggest attraction.
The road is.
You start before sunrise, leave Vadodara behind, carefully negotiate the busy highway sections, pass through Ranoli, Padamla and Vasad, and eventually reach the quieter open roads towards Gallops.
Then you stop, refuel, share a few stories and turn around for another 50 kilometres.
By the time you return to Yog Niketan, you've covered roughly 100 kilometres — but more importantly, you've experienced the simple pleasure of a long road ride.
Early morning starts. Busy roads. Open highways. Good company. Gallops. And 100 kilometres of road beneath your wheels.
That's the Gallops ride.
