Yog Niketan, Vadodara → Wadhwana Wetlands → Yog Niketan, Vadodara
Ride from Vadodara into the quieter countryside towards Wadhwana Wetland, a historic reservoir and Ramsar site known for its rich birdlife. The route gradually leaves the city behind, opening into rural Gujarat landscapes before reaching the peaceful waters of Wadhwana.

Elevation Profile
27–53 m over 103.66 kmThe Ride
Starting from Yog Niketan, the route heads towards Dabhoi Chowki before continuing through Dabhoi and onwards to Wadhwana. The ride gradually moves away from Vadodara's urban surroundings into quieter countryside, with fields, open stretches and rural landscapes becoming part of the experience.
Through Dabhoi
Dabhoi makes a natural break in the ride. Lala Bhai Bhajiya Wala is a memorable food stop for hot bhajiyas and a chance to take a short break before continuing towards Wadhwana.
Beyond Dabhoi, the route becomes more rural. The approach towards Wadhwana passes through agricultural surroundings and open countryside, with the landscape becoming increasingly peaceful as the wetland gets closer.
Reaching Wadhwana
The destination is Wadhwana Bird Sanctuary, centred around the historic Wadhwana reservoir. The wetland is particularly interesting during the winter months, when migratory birds join the resident bird population.
The sanctuary has birdwatching towers around the wetland, offering cyclists a chance to step away from the road and spend some time exploring the destination.
A Short Break
A small canteen at the sanctuary provides a convenient place for refreshments and a breather after the ride from Vadodara. It is a simple stop, but fits naturally into the rhythm of the route before exploring the wetland or beginning the return journey.
